Volunteering with Girl Guides Australia
Our volunteers are passionate women, who are driven by what girls can do, lean on personal experience to create brave spaces for girls to discover their authentic selves. We support them to inclusively mentor girls 5-17yrs, as they develop physically, mentally and socially – wherever they live in Australia.
We provide a brave space where girls can turn what they choose to do into springboards for who they can become. Gaining life and leadership skills through activities, community involvement and achievement awards. Designed to empower, our framework allows girls to lead their units and the adventures they have supported and mentored by adult volunteers.
Each year volunteers contribute thousands of hours – worth millions of dollars – across a broad range of areas, from outdoor and adventurous activities to administration, special events, fundraising, marketing, maintenance and learning and development.
Girl Guiding worldwide focuses on giving girls and young women a voice and an opportunity to build lifelong friendships and networks and this extends to our volunteers too.
More volunteers are encouraged to support the organisation as there are now waiting lists in many regions for girls who wish to become members.
Volunteers play an integral role in delivering our Girl Guide program and in supporting Youth Members to achieve life skills as they strive towards resilience and self-development.
